MAT Composite score is calculated on basis of percentile in each of the section.

If you score below 200, your composite score is 199.
Similarlity for if you score above 800 or more it is coubted as composite score of 801.

The methodolgy is based on formula.
It means if your percentile score is lets assume 75% , then it states 75% students have scores below yours.

Every University has its own record and calculated method which is not revealed.
Hope this helps.
