High school board has no bearing when it comes to USMLE eligibility.
The maximum attempts allowed for each step of USMLE is 6.
But the caveat here is, if you qualify for any step USMLE once, you cannot reappear for the exam again for the next 7 years
And since qualifying marks and good marks for getting good hospitals and branches are quite far apart, this means that you should only attempt USMLE when you absolutely sure of your preparation.
Because practically speaking, it’s as good as having only one attempt.
