yes, marks are matter. for getting btech course should qualify jee main cutoff marks. depends on your marks, branch and category allocation of college by counselling. marks are different for diff. colleges. you may check ranking of colleges like nit,iiit etc.

Through, JEE Main you can take admission in NITs/IIITs and GFTIs.

DTU and NSIT also take admission through JEE Main and counselling is held  through JAC Delhi.

 

Some private colleges as well consider JEE main marks to provide admission.

 

You can asking for which institute/college?

 

To take admission in NITs you should score more then 130 marks in general category other state quota. Cut off marks also varies according to the branches.
