i think you dont know this fact that IIST needs jee advanced score for admission.so the rank in jee advanced is matters here.the rank/cut-off will vary with different categories, you can check it with this link:

Hello. The NTA has not released the cutoff yet. It will be released after the April exam concludes. Since for the 1st time in JEE Mains only percentile will be considered for overall merit list therefore it is tough to predict the exact marks that you should score to get admission in top colleges. However our experts predict that a percentile of 85+ can get you qualified for JEE Advanced.
