Hope you are doing great ! Jee mains is an entrance exam for the various courses like b.e ,b arch and btech , on the basis of your percentile and ranks you get the various colleges and various branch ,this paper consist of 90 question in which 75 are compulsory while 15 are optional 5 from each physics , chemistry and maths . Out of 300 ,if you get 120-150 you can get decent college ,above it there are high chances to get good college and below 120 ,you don't get good college . For iits you need to be under 2.5 lakhs rank today give jee advanced and after qualifying jee advanced you get iit.
