Hello,
I hope you are doing fine, Can't say much actually. Some may defend the fact that they have achieved brilliantly in JEE with HCV while some may feel it insufficient.
According to me, the subject content in HC Verma is very much theoritical and is not revised with current trend of questions and doesnt contain sufficient solved examples. Of course it is still the best book…probably the master book for clearing your concepts but I guess since you have mentioned JEE Advanced as the target exam it may be insufficient or may be just enough for an average score (might be a 35-40/120 minimum).
You can go with DC Pandey as it is more inclined towards the JEE Advanced kind of problems along with excellent solved examples and important theory illustrated brilliantly throughout.
I hope you find this information helpful. I wish you all the best for your future.
Good Luck
