To get admission into top  NITs, you need to score around 200-250 marks for branches of your choice. This is just an estimation for general category students. For other reservation category students, you need to score around 150-200 marks for a decent branches in top NITs.

Cutoff changes every year for different colleges that offer admission through jee mains.
But going through past year cutoff trends you will have to aim to score more than 95 percentile if you want admission in a good NIT with your desired branch and for that you will have to score 260+ in JEE mains examination.

As competition is increasing rapidly cut-offs for different competitive exams are also increasing accordingly. For B.Tech through NITs you have to appear for JEE-Main exam conducted by National Testing Agency(NTA).

For getting admission in good NITs you need to score 250+ in JEE-Main examination.

If you want to get into NIT you should have a good percentile in your JEE .

The marks differ every year so you should keep analyzing the marks in prder to get a rough idea about the required percentile.This year the cutoff JEE main was around 89 Percentile for open and for obc 75 percentile
