As per the data available for AIIMS MBBS 2017, a total of 2,84,737 candidates appeared for the exam out of the 3,64,242 who registered. In this, there were a total of 1,33,933 male candidates, 1,50,973 female candidates and 11 transgenders. True to the competitive nature of AIIMS, only 4905 candidates qualified for the exam and became eligible for counselling.
