The number is not fixed, as  variation also occurs, but still on an average millions of students appear for six Olympiad exam every year, where more than 1450 plus cities are registered every year with  thousands of schools, from which some student do not attempt exam because of some problems still the count cross million this is quite difficult to predict the exact number but still this was the probable idea for you.
