Around 7% of students from Odisha who appeared for JEE (Main) have qualified for JEE (Advanced), the second stage of the entrance test for admission into the IITs. The percentage is far less than the national average of 12%. Official sources said 49,108 students (33,155 boys and 15,953 girls) from Odisha appeared for JEE (Main). From among them, 3,202 students (6.94%) crossed the threshold marks (115 for general category students) to qualify for JEE (Advanced) scheduled on May 25
