I would like to tell you that every candidate has a maximum of three attempts for JEE Main.
You can appear twice for the entrance test in a year. So this is used in correlation with the original number of attempts, from 2019 onwards, JEE Main number of attempts in total will be six.

HiiA candidate can appear in JEE Mains for 3 consecutive years. IN 2019 a candidate who would be appearing in 10+2 exam or those who qualified in 2018 or 2017 can be eligible. Now that JEE is conducted twice per year from 2019, both the attempts of a year are consired as single attempt. So you can appear for both January and April session and it will be calculated as 1 attempt only.Hope this helpsThanks!!
