Total number of MD+MS+Diploma seats in India: 25,041(Government+Private) (Including AIIMS, PGI, JIPMER, NIMHANS)
Total number of MD+MS+Diploma seats under NEET PG: 23,729(Government+Private)(excluding AIIMS- 183, PGI- 148, JIPMER- 212, NIMHANS- 27)
Total number of MD+MS+Diploma Government seats: 15,471(Including AIIMS, PGI, JIPMER, NIMHANS)
Total number of MD+MS+Diploma government seats under NEET PG: 14,159

There has been an addition of nearly 3500 MD/MS seats and 2300 DNB seats. At present, there are 479 medical colleges in the country, out of which 227 in Government and 252 are in private sector with annual admission capacity of 67,352 MBBS and 31,415 Post-Graduate students per year.
