Hi Yash,

Firsly I dont think you will be eligible for the Govt seats as the eligibility clause clearly specifies atleast 7 years of study inclusive of the diploma study time. The first preference for the private colleges also will be for the karnataka students. This is generally applicable in all states. Maharashtra also does that. I think that GM is the one for all students while GK is for karnataka medium and GR is for Karnataka Rural candidates. However there is no clarity on whether GM does include other state students or not. Anyway, Click here to check the list of ranked colleges in Karnataka. Then you may have to match the cutoff ranks as given in the DCET website. Click here to check the round 1 cutoff figures. See which private colleges are good and ranked well, you can opt for them. Also write to some of the colleges for a better understanding of how the process goes.

Alternately you could see in Maharashtra also since you belong there and you will have a good chance of admissions on account of the local status. All the best!
