In order to offer top-notch agricultural education at the undergraduate level, Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University founded Agricultural College, Naira in 1989. The main goals of founding the college were to satisfy the desires of aspirant students from Andhra Pradesh's north coast in pursuing a career in agriculture and to develop a centre for learning and providing services so that local farmers could adopt cutting-edge agricultural technologies.

There are no minimum scores required for admission to agricultural colleges in Nigeria. It is sufficient to pass the EAMCET and have a strong academic record to be admitted.
