There is no particular quota for people living hilly areas. The reservation is given to:
- R esident of Himachal Pradesh
- SC/ST/OBC
- Ward of Freedom fighters
- Children or wards of Ex-serviceman
- Children of defence personnel
- Backward area
- Physically handicapped
- Single girl child
- Children of Jammu and Kashmir
- Tibetian refugees certificate
