Hi,
An aspiring neuroscientist begins the educational process with a bachelor's program, which includes courses in psychology, human anatomy, physiology and biology. These courses would be similar to programs that prepare students for medical school.
After receiving an undergraduate degree, the student then earns a master's degree. Courses in a master's program would be advanced levels in biology and other neuroscience subspecialties. Ideally, the master's program would include clinical lab work.
Next, the student earns a Ph.D., which most jobs in neuroscience require. A candidate in a Ph.D. program will begin more advanced studies in the subspecialties of neuroscience, such as cellular neurobiology, cognitive neuroscience or neuropharmacology.
