First of all you need an aggregate score of 50% in 12th with PCB and English as subjects (general category) and 40% (SC/ST/OBC). Only then you become eligible for competing in medical entrance exams.



Now the biggest exam for MBBS/BDS is NEET( National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) which is an yearly exam conducted by CBSE. It helps you get admission in 15% seats of any college in India (except colleges in J&K, AIIMS, JIPMER). Rest 85% seats come under state quota and you can get admission in one of those only in your state.

e.g. A candidate belongs to Punjab can get admission to one of the 15% of total seats in any college in any state except JK through CBSE counselling and he can also apply for 85% seats of Punjab only, through state counselling.



Institutes like AIIMS and JIPMER conduct their own entrance exams separately.



Institutes like AFMC and BHU don't conduct their own entrance exams but they don't offer any state quota means that all seats are open to all candidates of any state. They prepare merit list on the basis of marks scored in NEET.

Hello you can get seats into medical colleges based on your marks in NEET-UG EXAMS. This is a national level exam,that offers you 15% of all seats. Two exams AIIMS & JIPMER you have to appear separately.
You can apper in NEET UG, eligibility criteria is PCB in 12th & minimum 50% marks for general category.
