Hello, it is a very good choice to choose research in the medical field as it is still in its developing phase in India. The first step will be to get admission into MBBS by cracking the NEET examination. After completion of MBBS, the next step will be to complete MD in general medicine or Surgery depending upon your choice of interest. After completing MD, you can apply for PhD program which is for a period of 3-5 years.
AIIMS is one of the most desired institute for medical research. Minimum percentage required for admission into a PhD program is 55%.
For admission process, the candidates need to clear the All India Entrance Examination and a Personal Interview held in the respective institute for further process of admission into the programe. Some colleges also conduct a pre-PhD program of 6 months after the personal interview conducted in the respective institute.
The fees for this program ranges from 30,000 to 2 lakhs depending upon the institution offering the program.
