IIFT unlike top B-schools has little to no weight age for academics.

Preparation & approach-

1.First go through the paper before starting.

2. Divide time accordingly to all sections to get min 8-10 in each section. The section which is easier for you can be for increasing your scores.

3. GK will be more on current affairs . Cutoff is around 2-3 max. So don't do guess work if you can attempt 6-8 correctly. Else your chances of clearing round-1 could be in jeopardy.

4.Unlike in CAT, RC questions are direct you can easily attempt 12 out of 16 question just by reading questions and looking out for answers.

5. VERBAL is easier . Though this year had puzzles which made it quite tough .If this section is clubbed with say RC .Look to score more in RC .Don't attempt the vocab or grammar which you are not sure of.

6. 60% of the quants are in easier to mid range. So try to attempt first the easier ones and then do the rest at end.

7. DI can be tough. Pick the best 2 out 4 caselets and leave the rest .

8. LR is always easy and mark fetching. Try to attempt more here.

So these can actually help you with the exam preparation.

Good Luck.
