how to renew my nmms scholarship
To renew your NMMS (National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship), you must maintain academic performance and attendance criteria as set by the scheme. Renewal is typically done through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Log in using your credentials, go to "Apply for Renewal," update academic details for the current year, upload marksheets, bonafide certificates, and submit it before the deadline. Ensure your bank account details remain active and linked with Aadhaar. Check your school or district nodal officer for specific requirements in your state.
To renew your NMMS scholarship, follow these steps:
-
Visit the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) and log in using your existing ID.
-
Select the "Renewal" option for NMMS.
-
Update any changed details (like bank info, address).
-
Enter marks obtained in your previous class (Class IX for Class X renewal, and so on).
-
Upload required documents:
-
Previous class marksheet
-
Promotion certificate
-
Income certificate (if asked)
-
Aadhaar-seeded bank account details
-
-
Submit the application before the deadline (usually between August and September).
-
Your school and district nodal officer will verify your application.
Make sure you’ve scored at least 60% in the previous class and are still studying in a recognized government or government-aided school to remain eligible.
Hello,
If you are a current NMMS scholarship recipient (approved in Class 9, 10 or 11), here is how to get your scholarship renewed for the next academic year through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP):
1. Log in to NSP using your One Time Registration (OTR) credentials
2. Choose the Renewal option (do not apply as a fresh applicant)
3. Update your academic and personal details
4. Enter your marks and upload the promotion certificate
5. Upload all required documents such as mark sheet, income certificate, ID proof, bank details, and Aadhaar
6. Submit the application before the deadline
7. Wait for your school and district-level verification
8. Check your application status on the NSP or through the Public Financial Management System (PFMS)
If you are renewing for Class 11 in the academic year 2025 to 2026, you must apply by 31 August 2025. Your school should complete Institute Nodal Officer (INO) verification by 15 September, and District Nodal Officer (DNO) verification should be done by 30 September 2025. After successful verification, the scholarship amount will be disbursed directly to your bank account.
If you belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) category, the minimum academic requirement is 55 percent instead of 60 percent.
For technical issues or if verification is delayed, contact the NSP helpdesk at 0120 6619540 or email [email protected] (mailto:[email protected])
