PROGRAMME OVERVIEW - The Masters in hospital administration (MHA) is a full time post graduate course spread out over 4 semesters spanning 2 years, with thesis the work included in the final semester. The MHA cadre of Manipal have undergone extensive training in a state of the art tertiary care hospital, the Kasturba hospital, which is also NABH and ISO accredited. The Kasturba Hospital is also AAHRPP accredited. Kasturba Hospital was established in 1953. Today the hospital has over 2000 beds. The hospital is fully equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic departments to facilitate treatment of a wide range of medical and surgical diseases. It is well equipped for advanced and sophisticated surgeries such as coronary bypass and open-heart surgery as well as kidney transplantation. The 280-bedded cancer research hospital is located adjacent to the main hospital. One of India's top medical colleges, the Kasturba Medical college, is attached to this hospital. It is in this academically surcharged environment that our budding administrators are groomed.
The aspiring administrators get unmatched exposure throughout the 4 semesters to the workings of a hospital through daily postings in more than 25 departments like : 1. Registration and Enquiry 2. Admission and Billing 3. OPD 4. MRD 5. Student Health Clinic 6. Trauma and Emergency 7. Transportation and Ambulance 8. Housekeeping 9. Bio Medical Waste 10 CSSD 11. Dietary services

The students also work on a short term research project on a topic of their interest. Alumni from Manipal MHA have been employed by prestigious hospitals like Apollo, Fortis, Narayana Hrudayalaya and HCG.

ELIGIBILITY
Duration: 2 years.
Citizenship: Indian nationals can apply under the General Category. Foreign nationals or Non Resident Indians or Indian nationals supported by NRI relatives can apply under the Foreign/ NRI Category.
Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Health sciences / Medical Sciences / Allied Health Sciences streams / any other stream may also be considered provided passing marks has to be minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in undergraduate degree, and the Degree should be from a University recognized by the University Grants Commission.
