Hi Ankush Mathan,

Hope you are doing well. First of all you have to do bachelor's degree from any reputed institute.

Chemical engineers play major roles in sugar industry, no matter of the plant (sugar beet, sugarcane, etc.) as the main source. Chemical engineer, as process engineer, designs, operates, controls, manages and maintains various operations in the entire process of sugar factory. Moreover, they may play roles in the laboratory to analyze the raw materials and all intermediate materials during production as well as to conduct pilot plant tries in the lab for optimizing the processes. Add to this, they can be among directors and top manager of the company. A true chemical engineer has all needed knowledge and skills to play role in all these different positions in a sugar mill. Of course, along with chemical engineer, there are mechanical and electrical engineers working in the sugar mill to maintain machinery and equipment and chemists to run the laboratories.

Skill & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering field required. Chemistry degree preferred
  • 2 to 4 years experience in a lab environment. Sugar experience is preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills resulting in the development of reports, training and presentations
  • Strong analytical chemistry and math aptitude, including statistical skills
  • Full understanding of standard laboratory methods and testing practices
  • Ability to multi-task effectively with the realization that versatility is required to focus on numerous tasks
  • Strong mathematical, accounting, and computer aptitude (Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, LIMS/WIMS, SAP)
  • Leadership, organizational, training, and presentation skills
  • Experience in working with 3 rd party audit companies a plus
  • Ability to be self-driven
  • Friendly, results oriented, and collaborative
  • Strong customer focus mind-set
  • Self-starter and possesses the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

I hope it helps, thankyou.
