If you belong to SC /ST category you definitely have a chance...but if you belong to OBC / Gen. Category there is very little chance for you to get some nit/IIIT.
You may be admitted through home state quota...in your home state nit and find mech/Electrical branch, but it's quite difficult for you if you don't.
