Hi Aman,
Hydrogen does not posses any dipole moment ,due to its symmetrical nature.
Dipole moment exist when there is separation of charge. They can occur between 2 ions in ionic bond or two atom in covalent bond. Dipole moment arises due to electronegativty. The larger the electronegative larger the dipole moment.
Hope it helps
All the best
Hi Aman
Dipole moment occurs due to separation of charge, from difference in electronegativity when atoms in a molecule share electrons unequally. It mostly occurs between two ions having ionic bond or between two different atoms in a covalent bond.
In symmetric diatomic molecules like hydrogen (H2), the charge of the electrons is balanced equally and hence, they do not have a dipole moment.
