Dear Kuldeep, you should complete your 12th in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. You need to appear for IMUCET which is Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Examination followed by a screening test and a written examination. And you also need to successfully complete a Ship Training Course before placement. There are Private Institutions as well which train you for the posts of Deck Cadets and Marine Engineering jobs. The other Entrance Examinations are MERI and TIMSAT. Alternatively you can appear for JEE and study any of the courses in various streams of Engineering like Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, etc and then get placed in Merchant Navy.
