You should say to your parents that I respect your decision but If I take Science it is possible that I may not to do well and become a victim of depression. My interest in Arts (Psychology) so I can better in this field and become a psychologist. It is also related to medical field like clinical psychologist, counselling in hospitals etc. or you can show some example of successful psychologists (India and abroad)

Hey, I can understand your situation and it's common in Indian parents. I suggest you to talk to your parents calmly and convince them politely. Tell advantages as well as disadvantages of both the carreer lines and tell them that it would be difficult for you if you don't choose carreer line according to your interest.

I see you have interest in Arts stream while your parents want you to go for Science stream. Your parents are the only people in the world who truly wants the best for your. Maybe there way wouldn't be good but there intentions will always be. Although Arts is a good stream, a typical household in India will always and always prefer Science Stream. In this situation, the best thing for you would be to persuade your parents of your interest and passion and basically give them a roadmap on what you will do in the future while picking Arts. If your goal is clear then it's on you that how you convince them but if you are picking Arts just because to study less then it won't be a good option.
