Let me make you something clear about IIT'S. People think that if you get into an iit you will definitely get a good job. Definitely you have a good pool of opportunities but that is not everything. If you will take ocean engineering then be prepared for the hard work. You have to learn several skills and also you have to keep your grades high to finally land on a good job offer. On the other hand if you take ece then you will have much more options. At last I would say that branch matters. If you are sure that you will do hardwork then you can pursue ocean or mining engineering, there will not be any problem but I would suggest you to please try to get a better branch even if you have to go into new iit's. Nobody knows what will happen in future but you must take such option which has lesser risk. Lastly choice is yours as you know yourself better than others. I am also from iit and i am suggesting you this according to my experience till now.

Its good that you are getting admission in IIT kharagpur so congrats. And bits goa is also good college so it totally depends on you which field interests you more. And don't listen to what other people are saying that what is good for girls, if you want to pursue ocean or mining engineering please go for it, it also has a good scope and as far as consider ECE branch it is evergreen branch means obviously its scope is more because since most of the companies give preference to this branch and for other two branches it will be limited to particular area but for ECE you can either go for core companies or IT companies. And after doing your btech if you want to do MBA then its good, you should go for it. So i suggest if you want to have more opportunities in your field go for ECE and then MBA or else you can do ocean or mining engineering and then MBA both is possible.



So as i said earlier its your choice what you want to do and which is best for your future.
