As jee mains is one of the important and a crucial exam of india for admission in top colleges in India ( nits ; IIITs and other good colleges).
To secure a good rank you need to prepare well for the exam and it is not 1or 2 day game ; it need a long time( near about more than 1 year ).
You need to learn the concepts and practice a lot and have to strong your concept and knowledge .
As you are saying that you are scoring about 40 marks in mock test.
So let me tell you one thing to get 150 marks you need a lots of improvement .
There are some tips you should follow :

• Make proper schedule and include more than 7-8 hours of self study other than coaching .
• Don't expect the change early ( it will take time may be 6 months or more or may be less )
• Keep in touch with your teacher and parents and tell the problem that you are facing
• Don't compare yourself with anyone and don't get frustrated by seeing what others are doing.
• Donot skip any concept and do it before going to next one .
• Have a proper study material and good books
• Donot follow 2 books at a time ; first grasp one book and practice it .
• Work on your mistakes what you do in the test .
