Hello,
As you are planning to do upsc then keep two things in mind. Firstly you can opt for humanities as it will help in your preparations in future.
Secondly you can pursue your engineering degree and side by side you can start studying about ias by watching news, reading newspapers and magazines like yojana and kurukshetra and it will help you big time.

Even though the exam to be undertaken is popularly known as IAS exam, it is officially called UPSCCivil Services Exam. The UPSC CSE consists of 3 stages  Prelims, Mains, and Interview.Getting into Indian Administrative Service is not easy considering the competition involved, but not impossible for a candidate with right attitude and approach.

Cheers !!

Dear Harshal

Don't fear about the course because the student who are having minimum qualifications as degree or who are in their final year are eligible to apply.

All the best.
