Yes, this is possible because after you have completed your graduation Science) and post graduation (Botany) you can appear for Food Inspector exam subject to specific eligibility requirements as prescribed by the exam conducting authority (such as UPSC, SSC and State Public Services Commissions).

In most cases it requires candidates with a bachelor degree in Science, with a major in any Biology, Chemistry, or other similar subjects. That you possess both B.Sc and M.Sc degree in Botany qualifies you in regard to academic qualification in the most food inspector on Food Safety Officer examination requirements.

Be sure:
Look up the official advertisement of the poster (There may be different eligibility in different states/ authorities)
Seek age limit, subject combination and exam syllabus
There will be written test and interviews as selection methods as well

Hello Aspirant,

You can indeed apply for the Food Inspector exam. Usually, candidates who have completed a Bachelor's degree in Science, specifically with a degree in Biology, Chemistry or Botany, are eligible to take the Food Inspector exam offered by state PSCs etc. or by agencies such as FSSAI. In any case, please verify eligibility from the eligibility criteria prescribed in the official notification issued by the recruiting authority.

Yes, you are eligible to apply for food security officer especially under FSSAI and State PSCs.

Eligibility for Exam: Bachelor's Degree in Science that you hold.

Also you are Botany graduate and clearly eligible for food inspector.

Hello Reema,

Yes, you are eligible to apply for the Food Inspector exam. Since you hold a graduation degree in Science and a postgraduate degree in Botany, you meet the educational criteria required by most state and central food safety departments. For example, exams conducted by FSSAI, SSC, or State Public Service Commissions often require a Bachelor’s degree in Science with Biology/Chemistry/Microbiology or a related subject. Some may prefer candidates with knowledge in food sciences or related fields, which you already possess.Make sure to keep an eye on official notifications and eligibility criteria for specific posts, as these can slightly vary.

All the best for your preparation!

Thank you.
