Hey Naysha! If you want to become a pilot, then after 10th you should definitely go for Science stream (PCM – Physics, Chemistry, Maths) in 11th and 12th. Without Physics & Maths, you cannot apply for Commercial Pilot License (CPL).
Since you dropped Science in 9th & 10th, don’t worry – that doesn’t matter much. What matters is choosing the right stream in 11th-12th. Work hard in PCM subjects, because they are very important for pilot training.
Later, after 12th (with PCM), you can join a flying school approved by DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) in India or abroad. Along with that, you’ll also need to clear a Class 1 Medical test to make sure you are fit to become a pilot.
Hi ,
if you have to be a pilot and u have left science in your 9th -10th it does not matter , because eligibility criteria to be pilot is that you have to be from science stream in class 11th & 12th not in your 9th and 10th , so you can still be pilot if you operate science in you 11th and 12th . Thankyou .
Hello Naysha
The eligibility criteria to become a pilot is that you should have Physics and Mathematics in your Class 12th . It doesn't matter whether you had science in Class 10th or not you will need to be in Science Stream with Maths for becoming a pilot.
So in Class 11th ask your school if they can provide Science stream to you and if not then enroll in a school which can and you are good to go.
Hope this answer helps! Thank You!!!
