Hello,

Your query is regarding the Domicile you would be eligible for. So i would like to inform you various states have different domicile criteria. If one fulfils the criteria he/she becomes eligible to hold a Domicile certificate of that state.

In NEET Counseling Domicile plays an important role for getting Government Medical Colleges for MBBS and BDS courses.

You will be eligible for the domicile of the state from where your parents belong to and have their Domicile certificates.

Below I have provided the Domicile rules of Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra -

Andhra Pradesh -

--------As per the AP NEET admission, the local status is divided into Andhra University (AU) and Sri Ventaswara University (SVU) areas. AU local area includes seven districts while five districts in SVU area. The Non-local candidates are eligible for 15% Unreserved seats only. The Local candidates are eligible for both 15% unreserved seats and 85% local area seats.

AP Local Area Candidates:

------Students from the following districts of AU, SVU or OU (Osmania University, Telangana) areas are considered as the local area NEET domicile 2021 for MBBS/BDS admission to the local area institute, and to any other educational institution (other than a State-wide college) which is under the control of the State Government and is situated in this local area.

AU local area districts - Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam

OU local area districts - Adilabad, Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Karimnagar, Khammam, Mahaboobnagar, Medak, Nalgonda, Nizamabad and Warangal

SVU local area districts - Ananthapur, Kadapa, Kurnool, Chittoor and Nellore.

Any candidate shall be considered a Local Candidate in relation to the local area .

• If they have resided in the local area for a minimum period of 4 consecutive years, immediately preceding the year they appear for the relevant qualifying examination

A candidate who is not regarded as a local candidate under the above criteria, and has studied in educational institutions in the State for a minimum period 7 consecutive academic years, ending with the year they apply for NEET, may be considered local in relation to:

• The local area where they have studied for the maximum no. of years out of the said 7 years

• Their period of study in two local areas is equal
