I am preparing for gate 2020, but I already have gap of 4 years, so next year it will be a gap of 5 years. Is it a correct decision?

Hi!
It is never too late when it comes to education. You are always a learner. Since you have done so many courses and you have a good job, you can prepare well and get into a good university to persue your higher studies.
All the best!

Also the online freelance work is not in my domain, I just worked as a Virtual Assistant mainly for income. Will this count as experience and can I justify the same?

It will definitely count as an experience when it comes to the job you choose after the completion of your degree.
