Hello,
you should use a disability certificate issued by a competent authority, such as a Disability Certificate from a Government Hospital or the Chief Medical Officer, which clearly mentions your type and percentage of disability. For NEET, this certificate is required to avail extra time, scribe assistance, or other concessions. Make sure the certificate is recent, valid, and specifically mentions that you are eligible for such exam accommodations, as the NEET authorities will verify it during the application process.

For getting extra time in NEET as a PwD (Persons with Disability) candidate, you must have a valid PwD certificate issued by a government-recognized medical authority. As per NEET guidelines, the certificate should be from a government medical board/hospital in the prescribed format approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI)/NMC. The disability must be at least 40% as per RPwD Act, 2016 to be eligible for PwD quota and related benefits like extra time. During NEET application, you need to upload this certificate and also carry the original at the exam centre. Without a valid certificate in the correct format, extra time or other PwD benefits will not be granted. Always ensure your certificate mentions the type and percentage of disability clearly.

As a PWD (Persons with Disability) candidate, you are eligible for certain relaxations and facilities during NEET, such as reservation in seats, relaxation in eligibility criteria, and extra time in the exam (compensatory time). To avail these, you need to have a valid Disability Certificate as per the guidelines of the Government of India. Specifically, NEET accepts the certificate issued by the designated Disability Assessment Boards of government hospitals (not from private hospitals). The certificate should clearly mention your type of disability, the percentage (minimum 40% disability is required for PWD category), and it must be issued in the prescribed format. For extra time during exam, usually candidates with benchmark disabilities like blindness, cerebral palsy, locomotor disability affecting writing ability, etc., are given an extra 20 minutes per hour of the exam. So for NEET’s 3-hour-20-minute exam, you get extra 1 hour. Please ensure that your certificate is in the format given by NTA/Medical Council of India guidelines, otherwise it may be rejected.

Thank you, and I hope you achieve your goals.

Hey Mihul!

If you're a PWD candidate in NEET, you'll need a PWD certificate in the official NEET format(minimum 40% benchmark disability) issued by a Government Medical Board to claim extra time in the exam.

Herr's how you can get it:

Simply download the certificate form(proforma)from the NEET information bulletin, get it filled and signed by the designated medical authority, upload it while filling your NEET application and carry it to the exam centre. With this certificate, you can get extra time in the exam.

All the best!
