Hey aspirant ,

This is the most probable question which comes from the side of a medical aspirant . I must say you are starting preparation at the prime time . All India institute of medical sciences is however the dream destination for every medical aspirant . And the only way is to crack the AIIMS entrance examination with top score to get a seat in the reputed institution . AIIMS Delhi is the parent institution with 7 branches in various states . Students with 60% marks in PCB are eligible for the entrance exam . AIIMS being one of the finest institution , tough competition and stiff seat makes it more difficult to get through . So a strategic preparation can help produce significant impact on your results . Before that you must be well aware regarding the exam pattern
A total of 200 questions
Physics - 60
Chemistry- 60
Biology - 60
General knowledge - 10
Aptitude and logical thinking - 10

More than 1lakh candidates apply every year for total of 807 seats under AIIMS .
  • As the exam carries nagative mark of -1/3 you have to be very particular while you pen the OMR . Every 3 wrong answer will deduce -1 . The syllabus is quite obvious that is the 11th and 12th
But what is more important is you need to actually jott down the chapters according to their difficulty level and the number of questions they fetch in exam
  • Download the complete AIIMS syllabus for preparation.
  • Be sure to cover current affairs , buiseness , world records  , awards , companies punch lines , books and authors , history and geography and major corporate events related questions .
  • Sometimes physics cracks all your mind with both numerical and theoretical questions which would be time consuming . So make sure you cover up the biology section first . Mechanics and optics will have the maximum number of questions . And 15 questions from electricity and magnetism , 10 from modern physics .
  • In chemistry , probably the organic one will fetch more questions .
  • Biology , have more focus on general biology that fetches about 27 number of questions .

I can recommend you some of the best authors to follow . You can relay on them to churn out your concept being a student of class 11th .
Physics - concept of physics by HC verma
Problems in general physics - I.E . Irodov
Concept of competition physics - Agarwals
Chemistry - physical chemistry by O.P Tondon
                      Organic chemistry by Morrison Boyd
                       Inorganic chemistry by J.D Lee
Biology -.     Objective biology by dinesh
                       Trueman's biology volume 1 and 2
                         Prakash objective biology

Being a class 11th student , you can brush your knowledge now . Start by clearing your concepts and for that refer NCERT . Then you can catch well the application based questions and a continue practice will make it easy to solve more questions in less time . You always need to have a goo grip on concepts .
In chemistry there are numerous chemical equatind to memorise . After being thorough with them you can go for applications . Mark important points while you solve them and revise them a number of times
Biology has a lots of concept . You cannot mugup everything at once . Continuous practice of mcqs will make you perfect . You can impend less time to solve biology questions when you have a good grip on the topics . I would suggest to repeat the number of questions you do . Do not relay on the answers that ate given at the back of the sheet . Always try to find the answer yourself , you can Google the answers . When you find your answer that's when you remember them well. While finding your answers you even come across various other topics that adds up to your knowledge too .

I hope the above information will be helpful for you .I wish you luck and if you have further queries and require understand am here .

All the best

Thank you.

Hi Aspirant

  • First preferce for NCERTs.
  • If coaching or professional help is convenient for you, go for that.
  • Understand and read all the topics really thoroughly.
  • Search for the better study material and reference books recommended by your teachers and choose one among them which have easy language and you can understand better.
  • Do go for group studies once in a week, a serious group study atleast for 3-5 Hours.
  • Study atleast for 8 hours a day.
  • Make a habit of making your notes in the way you can understand.
  • And then as the exam approaches and finished with studying all topics go for solving previous year question papers.

All the Best.
