There are so many companies.

It really depends upon what you're capable of and what you're interested in.

If you want to stay in core Mechanical Engineering, you may try for big automobile industries like TATA motors, Mahindra, etc. You can join as a GET. And later could be made a permanent employee based on your performance.

But to be honest, it's really difficult to get in now a days if you're not campus recruited.

Also Mass recruiters today are Software Giants, which even recruit Mechanical engineering students.

If you're not very rigid with your field , you could take that as an option.

If for any matter you don't get placed easily, it's better to complete post graduation as you'll get an edge over your competitors.

See as you said you have completed the engineering under the Mechanical domain and based upon that if you want to join the core companies in the Government sector then you might can go for the preparation of the GATE entrance exam and for the private sector you have to apply in that in the individual manner via their  official website in the respective company you wish to join for. See at last I must say that whichever the company through which you will get a good job will be the best as per my point of view, so overall you have to apply in all the major/minor companies coming under your domain.
