I did not take CMAT exam. Can I take admission in MBA college?
Hello aspirant,
MBA candidates are not required to take entrance examinations like the CMAT in order to get admitted. While CAT is a requirement for admission to IIM MBA programs, several Tier-2 and Tier-3 MBA colleges have adopted alternative admissions methods. A lot of MBA schools use entrance tests to choose their students. Colleges administer the XAT and NMAT as MBA entry exams.
Thank you
Hope it helps you
Hi aspirant,
- Although CMAT is a commonly used entrance exam for MBA admissions in India, is not the sole choice .
- Scores from other national entrance tests, including CAT, XAT, MAT, NMAT , and SNAP , are also taken into account by a large number of institutions.
- University-specific tests and some state-level entry exams, such as the MAH CET , are also conducted.
- Many institutions, especially private ones, o ffer direct admission based on your work experience, academic record, and performance in group discussions and interviews .
- In some cases, they even have a management quota.
- You should thus look at universities that accept alternative entry exams or provide direct admission pathways, as skipping the CMAT does not automatically prohibit you from applying to an MBA program .
All the best!
