Hey,
If you think you can do it then there is no problem in taking a drop. Gap year never affects your placement opportunities. You will be given equal chances as that are given to a fresher. But, sometimes after taking drop many aspirants feel bad of going through the same syllabus once again and this lead them no where. So if you feel like you can study the same things once again with a deeper approach then you can go for a drop.
