As you have not mentioned 31k rank is your general rank or SC category rank I am considering it as SC rank. And sorry to say but with this rank you are not able to get into any NIT.

The closing rank of last round for SC category are as follows:

NIT: 6,500-8,000

IIIT:7,000-9,000

GFTIs: 10,000 -12,000

After considering it you can ownself understand that you can not get into any of the Colleges under Jossa Counseling till the last round.

But still you cna try your luck in CSAB special counseling for better chances.

I would like  to tell you that 31k rank is well good if you are talking about your AIR rank. With AIR rank of 31k, you can get any of the top NITs such as NIT Calicut (lower branches), NIT Warangal, NIT Surathkal etc. However, if your rank is 31k in ST category, then there are very low chances that you can get a good NIT. Still you can go for GFTIs as well as government colleges in your state as there are good chances for getting these college.

Dear student,

If you have secured 31000 rank in sc category in jee mains 2020, them it's impossible to get any nits or iiits.
If you belong to home state quota then you can easily get some nits like, nit sikkim cse branch, nit Meghalaya cse branch, nit Manipur civil engineering branch, etc.
But you can not get good and top nits like nit Jamshedpur, nit trichy, nit warangal, nit durgapur, etc.
And if you are an other state student, then there is no chance for you to get a nit or iiit.

Better try at bit sindri or hbti Kanpur or at other private institutions like kalinga institute of industrial technology.
