Hi Suman,

Dropping a year and preparing just for NIT's is not only the way out there. But if you want genuine admission in IIT and if you will work very hard to get admission in IIT then you can think of dropping. We don't recommend you to drop a year as NIT or IIT is not only a medium to get successful in life or achieve big. There are many Private universities too which give you admission on basis of 10+2 marks and there you can study well and fulfill your ambition.

Still if you want to go to IIT's , then you can go even after your BTech from any institute. For that you have to Crack GATE exam with very good marks say above 75 out of 100 to get admission in IIT. You can do MTech there.

Hope this helps.
