Hi Bipashsa,

Hi Mansi!

In order to get admission to 449 veterinary seats, the eligible candidates have to qualify NEET entrance exam, which was conducted on May 5, and was rescheduled on May 20, for Odisha, Karnataka and Siliguri aspirants. Alike MBBS, from the total seats in every government B.V.Sc and A.H. colleges, 15% seats will be reserved for All India Quota candidates, which will be granted on the basis of scores mentioned in NEET 2019 result.

National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the result of NEET 2019 by June 5. The result will be made available in the form of score cards. Candidates securing the minimum qualifying percentile will be deemed to be eligible for counselling process under 15% All India Quota seats, 85% state quota, deemed/central universities and private colleges.

The cutoff score to get a seat in veterinary college for an unreserved category students depends on the state of domicile & choice of college

But even in the worst scenario, veterinary neet scores should not exceed more than 360 ie 50%.

The reason behind low cut off is quite clear that almost all of the students who appeared want to join Mbbs course, so the demand of veterinary is not that high. The final cutoff marks of 2017 were 520 (21k) rank  in NEET.

Here is a quick chart showing 2017 cut offs:

As there are limited veterinary seats I would probably say try to keep your options for private admission for BDS as well and enroll yourself for the couseling. However, if treating animals is your passion, then definitely go for it, even if it takes re-taking the exam.

Don't feel disheartened, keep trying and keep learning! All the best for your future!

Hope this helps!

Good luck! :)

Dear aspirant, according to your score in NEET 2019,surely you will get seats in bachelor of veterinary sciences in government colleges. The cutoff for BVSC is 400+ for general category so,  according to your score their is chances for you to get seats in government veterinary colleges
