As per the eligibility criteria you have to secure minimum 75% marks in 12 th boards exam ( for general and obc category)
And it is 65% for sc/st students
Or be in top 20 percentile of your boards .
So if you are in top 20 percentile of your boards exam that only you can take admission.
But with this rank 72161 ; it will be difficult to get any good nit college ( you may get low ranking nits only ).

Sorry to say but the elegibility criteria for NITs is that you should have scored atleast an aggregate of 75% in class 12th boards. But there is a relaxation of 10% for OBC students. So if you have any reservation other than EWS category student, you can still hope to ge an NIT. Otherwise, you should try different colleges. All the best!
