With this percentile score your approximately rank will be more than 2.2-2.4 lakhs ( will vary depending upon April exam and various factors) and nearly 2.2 students will qualify for jee advanced.

So it will be difficult for you to even qualify for advanced.

So try to do your best in April exam ; if you are giving and you need to secure atleast 96-97 + percentile for cs in Thapar( will vary depending upon your category and state).

You can see last year's cut offs and have an idea about it.

Since you have scored 78.8 percentile in JEE Mains your general rank around lie around approx 215000. Based on the last few year cut off or CSE branch in Thapar University closing rank for CSE branch goes up to approx 43000 for other state and for home state it goes up to approx 78,000. So with this rank according to me you would not be able to get CSE branch in Thapar University.you have still one chance in the form of JEE mains April session, work hard and try to score as much as you can to get the desired branch in Thapar University.  best of luck.
