i got 86 percentile in general category will i get into a nit(not neccessarily a good one)or suggest some private institutes if possible?

Well, according to our website for candidates to qualify for admissions for nit's they should have at least secured 75% in class 12 exam or be in the top 20 percentile in class 12 exam as conducted by your respective boards.
For SC/st category the criteria is 65% in class 12 exam.
