Your JEE Mains rank will be around 136000. With this rank it will be little difficult to get high demanding branches like CSE, IT, ECE etc in top NITs, IIITs.

Cutoff keeps changing year to year. Keep in mind that your chances to grab a seat will vary on the following basis:

Number of seats available

Number of students applied for the same branch

Performance of the students

The category you belong to etc.

Yes, there are chances but it depends on what branch he/she wants to pursue in his college.

It also depends on the state you are living in as he/she may get home state quota also with some category like OBC, SC, ST he/she can get good NIT in good branch.
