Dear Aspirant
First of all congratulations for securing such good marks.
In order to get admission in NIT you need to qualify in JEE mains, apart from that you must have 75% in your 12th boards or rank among the top 20 percentile in their qualifying examination. If you fullfill all of these criteria then you can surely get a seat in NIT.
All the best!

Dear student,

First of all you must mention your category that from which category you have secured 88.9 percentile score.
Now assuming that you have secured 88.9 percentile in JEE mains exam then getting a seat in NIT is quite difficult for you, or you can say no chance for you to get any seat in any nits. Because for this year, the cutoff percentile score was around 90, and you have not cleared the cutoff (if you are from general category).

But if you are from home state of some of the lower nits then with this much 88.9 percentile score you can definitely get some of the low nits like nit Srinagar, NIT Puducherry, nit mizoram, during csab neut.

But there is still very hard chances that you can get a seat even in csab special round counseling.
So, better you try at some other private colleges.

And also check out our JEE mains college predictor tool to get an appropriate idea of the college is that you can get on the basis of your JEE mains rank :-

You should have mentioned your rank too. As per previous years' trend your rank should be 115045 - 85657. It is quite tough for you to get into government colleges. You should try for private engineering colleges if you want to pursue B. Tech otherwise you may drop one year and prepare for JEE 2021.

Following are some of the best private engineering colleges in India.
