Hi Candidate,

The JoSAA counseling process is a long and thorough process involving numerous rounds of counselling and seat distribution and allotment.

Generally, the process takes place in 6-7 rounds following a mock seat allotment round at the earliest stage. Every candidate gets an option to either Slide/Freeze/Float his alloted seat, which entirety depends on the student which option he has to choose.

These choices are provided in each Round, so if you have missed out a chance to lock your seat, you can surely get it done in the next Round.

Hope that you have got your answer, and Wish You The Best for Further Rounds!!
