Dear student,
With a NEET 2025 rank of 60,000 , it’s highly unlikely that you’ll get an MBBS seat in a government medical college , no matter what category you belong to. In recent years, government colleges under All India Quota and most state quotas have closed around 25,000 to 40,000 ranks , especially for General and OBC categories . In 2024, for example, the last government MBBS seat closed at around 590 marks , which is much higher than the rank you're at.
However, you still have some decent options .
You can try for MBBS in private colleges , especially in states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh . These states have more private seats and sometimes lower cutoffs in the mop-up or stray vacancy rounds . Just keep in mind that fees are high , often Rs 10–25 lakh per year .
If that doesn't work out or isn't financially feasible, you have a good shot at BDS (Dental), BAMS (Ayurveda), or BHMS (Homeopathy) in both government and private colleges. These courses generally have lower cutoffs and are still good medical career options.
Find out which MBBS, BDS, or Ayush colleges you can get into with your NEET 2025 score by using NEET 2025 College Predictor.
