- With a VITEEE rank of 30,247, securing B.Tech Biotechnology or Bioinformatics at VIT Vellore is, frankly, quite unlikely.
- Historically, the closing ranks for these programs at the Vellore campus are much lower—typically around 13,000 for Biotechnology and between 7,300 to 11,000 for Bioinformatics.
- That said, VIT Chennai presents a more realistic opportunity. The closing ranks for Biotechnology and similar branches there can extend up to 28,000–32,000, which puts you within the range of consideration.
- Realistically, you’re far more likely to get Biotechnology at the Chennai campus or perhaps one of the other VIT campuses where competition is a bit less intense. Vellore’s probably out of reach, but Chennai isn’t out of the question.
