1. With a VITEEE rank of 30,247, securing B.Tech Biotechnology or Bioinformatics at VIT Vellore is, frankly, quite unlikely.
2. Historically, the closing ranks for these programs at the Vellore campus are much lower—typically around 13,000 for Biotechnology and between 7,300 to 11,000 for Bioinformatics.
3. That said, VIT Chennai presents a more realistic opportunity. The closing ranks for Biotechnology and similar branches there can extend up to 28,000–32,000, which puts you within the range of consideration.
4. Realistically, you’re far more likely to get Biotechnology at the Chennai campus or perhaps one of the other VIT campuses where competition is a bit less intense. Vellore’s probably out of reach, but Chennai isn’t out of the question.
